 My gaming experience this year has been pretty exciting. I have to confess that few of them were cracked, but most of them were either from Steam, Epic Game Store and Amazon Prime Gaming. Most of the games, I got for free, thanks to the free game giveaway on Epic Store, and monthly free games on Amazon Prime Gaming. Steam Year In Review - 2023 I'll list the games I played and finished this year: 1. Dishonored - Definitive Edition I got this game on epic store for free. I had heard good things about this game, and so I wanted to check it out for myself. I had absolute blast playing this game, specially for the power-ups and sneaky kills I got to execute.  I am writing this blog post to share my experience at the Winter School I participated at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram (previously known as Trivandrum), Kerala, India. This is the second batch of the winter school started by IISER TVM. The winter school is called as Refresher and Preparative Winter School (RPWS). It is directed to the students who want to take up research as their career after their Masters. There were three departments for the winter school - Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The intake for the program was only 50 all over India. Application required us to submit our grade details and recommendation letters. I was really lucky to get selected for the winter school.  My all time favorite text editor of choice has been Vim. Even though this text editor has a seriously dangerous learning curve (I don't think so) it is worth learning the, at least for it's one of a kind and highly productive mouse-less editing experience. In this article, I'll briefly explain the editing experience using Vim, in particular a distribution of Vim called Neovim. Neovim has been a great source of joy for me personally. Vim is configured using it's very own scripting language called vimscript, whereas Neovim on the other hand, is configured using Lua, a full-fledged scripting language, unlike vimscript which is only limited to configuring vim. I have been using Neovim for almost 4 years now. I started off using Vim, hated the learning curve, but at some point, it clicked, I enjoyed using the HJKL keys for navigation and I missed the keybinding whenever I used some GUI programs.
